Our dyslexia evaluations are designed to do more than identify a learning difference. They are meant to give families clarity, direction, and support.
Using the Tests of Dyslexia and the Woodcock Johnson we assess the core skills related to dyslexia, including phonological awareness, decoding, spelling, reading fluency, orthographic processing, rapid naming, memory, vocabulary, and reasoning.
Families receive a detailed report that is both comprehensive and easy to understand. We believe parents should walk away with more than test scores. You should leave knowing how your child learns, why certain tasks are difficult, and what steps will be most helpful moving forward.
Each evaluation also includes a personal letter written to the child, explaining the diagnosis in language that is encouraging and easy to understand. This helps students begin to understand their own learning profile in a positive and empowering way.
Included with Every Evaluation
- Two 2 hour testing sessions
- A detailed written report
- A 1 hour follow-up parent meeting to review results and recommendations
- An optional 30 minute teacher or educator Zoom meeting
- An additional 30 minute parent follow-up meeting a few weeks later to answer remaining questions
- A letter to the child explaining their diagnosis
Our goal is for every family to feel supported not only during testing, but after the evaluation is complete as well.
Please note that this is a dyslexia evaluation only. If cognitive or IQ testing is needed, we are happy to refer you to an educational psychologist.
