A Parent’s Guide to Understanding Dyslexia
Join other parents at the Greenwood Dyslexia Center for an informative class designed to help parents gain a deeper understanding of dyslexia. We’ll explore how the dyslexic brain processes language and why traditional reading methods may fail. We will also discover how the Orton-Gillingham method supports dyslexic students.

Early Literacy Foundations: Helping Your Child Grow as a Reader
This workshop is designed for parents of kindergarten and first-grade students who want to better and understand and support their child’s early reading journey. We’ll explore how children move from recognizing letters and sounds to becoming confident readers. Topics include letter formation, the connection between phonics and reading, strategies for teaching tricky high frequency words, common spelling rules, and suggestions for resources that you can use at home.
